saturday afternoon....
have just completed a tutoring session with Eliseo, and a little bit with Ruthie. This is a very different experience---forgot just how fulfilling and interesting a session with a student could be. Feeling very focused in a way that I havn't in a while. Four weeks before the Fringe begins, and only, as of now, one tutoring session per week. The rest......Well, there is the group, and some organizing and some writing for them. Then there is the endless socializing, mostly (but not all) at South Fourth, sometimes fulfilling, sometimes not . Goes in glitches. Then there are the walks yesterday in the Bronx, an interesting walk from Tremont and Concourse, to Burnside to University, to Sedgwick (where I had never been before---somewhat luxury houses in the"South Bronx", I wonder when they had been built) back to Tremont to University, then the bus to Washington Heighs, where the prices for food had gone up a lot. Felt nervous this moring re money, but far more relaxed after this session. Tonight, possible to see one man show based on the performer's father's passion for Wintereise, a song cycle of incredible bleakness by Schubert----idea sounds fascinating. Other visits, other boroughs, miss Vox Pop, perhaps will arrive there later to read....or perhaps....
