where is cityboy....

no posts since January 14---why----WORK! All four days this week, at least four more next week, more the week after---somehow when I sub at Friends, there seems less to report---or at least less that I want to
report.
Interesting day today, will try to see Half Straddle, then off to the party at Lucas' house where I will take the money---I enjoy that---being useful to the group is important to me---since I exclude other opportunities, this is a good way of contributing, and something that I do well. Tomorrow, not sure, the first day that
there is no foot ball to watch, so the possibilities have expanded. Still, should stop off at Cobra Club to say hello to Susan---after that not sure, have not seen a movie in a while, while plays that I want to see are shaping up Some interesting possibilities---let's see how the week shapes up...

after four days of work, somewhat disappointed that there was no work for me today, will go to the
basketball game this afternoon in Brooklyn----spent the weekend watching football, a little too much---but had a good time yesterday at Cobra---still have not seen much of the off off Broadway stuff I should see...not sure what the future holds.....we'll see...

two more days...

and then Friends re-opens---thank God! had enough of this vacation--running out of things to do---only have work scheduled for Wednesday, but hopefully more---just to know the vacation is over is heartening.
Yesterday: unstructured day, finally decided to see movie Detroitopia at IFC in afternoon, that was fine, very interesting
movie, wanted more of upscale newly revised Detroit, but still and good documentary. Afterwards, faced with what to do; returned home, decided not to go to any neighborhood bars to watch basketball and have a beer---find these bars rather cold, hard to have conversations with anyone---did not wish to go out to Brooklyn where I am happier, so stayed home read, listened to Net game, classical music, much Brahms, seemed comfortable with that, fell asleep around 11---should have been an easy evening, but wasn't. Awoke at three, very restless, many ideas, visions, stayed up for a long while, body would not let me sleep---finally got to sleep about 5A.M.  Somehow I feel I dissappointed myself by staying in---should have "stimulated" myself more by hanging out, trying a new bar, even on UWS--maybe  another movie---financially very stable, considering how much money I have to work with, but last night might have been a price to high....cold also inhibits me...
Today: return to apartment, listen to atleast the first part of Les Troyens, then on to South Fourth for first playoff game, probably will head to cobra for the second one, Green Bay and Minnesota. Maybe also Pine Box and Mattie invited me to go to his bar on north third...end up there...stay out late...don't protect yourself too much, city boy.....

so it is "over"

The two days, the Eve and the Day, are finished, now back to some sort of reality, though have to wait three days for work at Friends. Lots of time on my hands, lots of things to think about.
Report: New Years Eve---not bad, considering, spent most of the night at South Fourth, about as nice as it could get---good conversations with Ben, JD,  some others, nice to Adam G and Trevor among the crowd, also my friend Dr. Jen---anyway, everyone very friendly, a kind of amalgam of the last six years, which is what a bar should be---nevertheless, waited it out, still annoying about the countdown, when it was over, just went home on the subway, did not stop at La Flaca---too tired. Felt relieved, on to New Year's Day.
the Day: nice party at Ron and Liz' everyone very frienly, nice talk with Chris and Stephanie---some other good conversations, ofcourse ate a lot, could not keep that under control, by that I mean remembering that stomach fills up very quickly. Home and to bed, a little reading, saved some money, accomplished what I needed to.
Today, library, then not sure what else...brooklyn...? well it is very cold, hard to walk around, probably will let it happen.....
