hold, cityboy? Yesterday, after tutoring wandered around harlem for about 45 minutes, amazing all the beautiful brownstones that exist there, most of them have been redone, look beautiful....Mount Morris Park---my first trip there, good to walk around it. Seemed very passive, gentle, not so seventh avenue and the low
130's still vestiges of poverty in that area. Good walk up 116 from 5th avenue to Lenox, before going home, incredible contrast between the new luxury buildings and the poverty of the people walking around. Are there
really that many people who can afford those seemingly luxury apartments? It seems like there is no end
to them.
Awoke around 3, very angry about Friends situation (if that is what it is. will have to see how this week evolves, but calmed down later---Jesus wants me to help him with his GED math, that should be viable.
Will return to apartment after this stay in library, probably listen to Julius Caesar for a while, then will go
to City Center box office, see about La Perichole for tonight, and then head to Brooklyn. Have to visit
Susan and should stop off at South Fourth for a few moments this afternoon.

And now.....
four out of five, that's the most in a long time, cityboy. What does that mean? Will you be back in full stride
next week? Have time, then what....? Voyage.....? Write.....? Observe......?
Last night, went to see Sibohan perform at Berghof, some really terrible plays....yet this morning it got me to thinking about something that I might write...who would be in it...questions surrounding my generation?
Suppose it was a good thing to do....ofcourse got up at 4 and mostly remained up.Tonight, many options, I would like to see that folding chair Hamlet, am finally ready for another one, but perhaps some bar hopping instead. Would like to visit Talia at Formerly Crows, maybe pay a night visit to South fourth, have not been there for a while...constantly playing off things, like Hamlet, I hesitate...but for what....?
Tomorrow, a free day, so far, will visit Susan at Cobra, but again, many choices for the rest of the day...and so it contines....

restless...
a great day at Friends Tuesday...but then....nothing....shall this be my fate? Try to get what you
can from the rest of life, cityboy, go down to Tribeca film today (actually in the east village) and then maybe, after tutoring, see Sibohan's one act tonight. Should be no problem with that, huh?
Restless night (nothing new about that) but feeling rather free and positive this morning, yesterday watched two hours of baseball at the bar on Amsterdam and 80 street, nice place to watch baseball,
they kind of leave you alone, but still it leaves an unimaginitive feeling in me as I spend the night.
should call my brother, been a little remiss about that, but will talk to him soon...we will see about
tonight!

I'm tired....
well that is hardly surprising, city boy, after that endless walk through Brooklyn you took yesterday. Degraw to Bergen to Flatbush to Library---followed by the trek down Underhill, to Washington and Atlantic to Myrtle, no place to stop on Myrtle, so walked to BAM. Finally subway back to Standings for baseball immersion. So what does it all mean? Yes you seem to have a lust for walking, a longing to explore all over Brooklyn, but what then....? What secrets are hidden in the streets that you walk on? What history would you like to find out? Oh, if only one could tell the story of those streets for the past forty years...? What then?
Baseball enough for you last night? Good to see Aaron, but wonder if that is really the right place for you.
But if not...what......Hamlet tonight!

too long...
almost two weeks since last post---lots of work---had avery good day at Friends yesterday, of course
not called today, went to meeting at FAC---good work got done---now at brooklyn library---will go to baseball bar tonight---really can't miss Baltimore Dodgers, can't really believe that is happening.
Otherwise, things seem good, two good tutoring sessions this week, yet after subbing leaving me exhuasted---here in library after a long walk from fourth avenue, beautiful day, should get back into it

weekend....
not bad....by that I mean Saturday saw the two plays, and "hung out" after Goldor (the second play) had a lot of fun, try to remember that you have a theater life and you can enjoy it, cityboy. Today, finally a day without wind----planning for subbing for the next few days, should be good---will probably go in today to check on things...(and also don't have that much to do) Hannah and Tom are away tonight so probably will not hike to trivia at the Boulevard, but will do----what? Final four, not that interested. Have not really made the investment. So we will let it happen.
Hopkins directory arrived on Friday, have been perusing it fitfully for the past few days. Many of my classmates and buddies from earlier and later years are there---contact with them a real possibility, but
do I really want to make contact...? Ambivalent feeling, well let us continue......

so cityboy...
took the journey to Lefferts to Matt's party---neither time did he make use of a cab or car service. But that is much of the fascination of the journey, traveling through areas one has not been before, trying to come to temrs with the vision it presents of the past and the present. Ah Brooklyn! From Kingston Avenue, about seven blocks to Matt's apartment, mostly blocks empty or with movement from a few orthodox Jews, and a few blacks. Some of the cross streets in the area, which I could only get glimpses of as I passed, are really beautiful, kind of islands in themselves. Final two blocks before Lefferts are old apartment houses, seems like mostly black and hispanic people are living there---nothing dangerous, streets were still empty, but different nevertheless. Walked back down Kingston at around 10:45, just missed the bus, but no problems. Would like to visit again in the daytime, whole parts of this Eastern section of Flatbush that are unknown to me. Not sure about next trip.
Third day of no work from Friends, return tomorrow, then four at least four days next week, not to worry, still it is a little waring on me---have one tutoring project today, in gentrified Harlem (I think). Tutored in Harlem yesterdaty, amazed as I walked down Lenox between 132nd and 125th, all the upscale restaurants that have evolved there. Still quite a difference between rich and poor. See what happens....
