cityboy is longing...

for work at Friends, so of course, when he is asked to sub in the library this afternoon he can't. Or won't. Why? Because first lesson in a long while with Alem is scheduled. Forced to make a decision on the spot, cityboy chose to work with Alem, even though the money is less. Why? Because the last lesson with Alem about a month ago, was meaningful---and thought it was important to establish contact with her again. Of course, all last week a library assignment would have been  treasured, but that was last week.
Still, feel better about things there, one day scheduled for each of the next two weeks.
But at the same time, more energy than I know what to do with.Well, the next two days will be very cold, so cityboy will hang tight.
Saturday night: Went to Dixon Place, ventured into "my universe" and was rewarded with friendship from Jess, Jill, Linda and Lucy.Good to see them all; I think Lucy and Linda, the two women in the play were happy for my support.
Yesterday, first day without football, still went to Cobra, then took bus through Bushwick into Bed-Stuy to BAM. Realized, as the bus rolled towards flatbush, that 15 years ago and back, this would not have been a trip from Bushwick into highly gentrified Fort Greene. Interesting trip though, as the bus moved through Bed-Stuy to its destination.
Saw Wolf of Wall Street---like a garish nightmare---really did not need to see it, but it was only movie of the four at BAM that was starting at the right time. It was cold, cold, cold, and was pretty coffee'd out so did not want to wait for an hour (at least) for one of the other three movies, all of which I probably would have preferred. Though brilliantly put together, one asks one self while watching it, what was the point in making it.?
That's all for now, we'll see how the tutoring session with Alem goes, and possibly meet Alvin afterwards for some food and drink.
