This morning....

my two students missed their lesson-we had set it up last week---very strange, they and their mother are usually very reliable. So I went all the way up to 145th street and Amsterdam for nothing. Actually something, I took out a book of John Updike's short stories, have already read one or two of them---very disappointing---I have always liked Updike's short stories---these seem rather bland. Well, maybe it is me (or maybe not). Not much else to report, this is the first break of three that I have from Fringe work today---very hot again as usual---yesterday, spent last break having a coke and hummus at nearby bar---tried to watch Yankee game---loud conversations were a distraction---after I returned the equipment to the Fringe office, too tired to do much, but with an intense sugar need, went to gelato place on second between eighth and ninth street---had their cookies and cream---did not want to have a beer at Standings, even though I could have checked on the baseball scores---left feeling slightly "woozy" but nevertheless, successfully took the subway home. Woke up tired, but am in good shape now.
Not much else to say, Fringe continues its dogged journey of its last week, still have not seen anything since Monday a week---may not see anything until Encores, which will be announced soon.
Next week, with Fringe over and tutoring hopefully expanding, should be very interesting...
